IRCC Issues 5,000 Invitations in the New Express Entry Draw

On December 9, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 5,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in its most recent all-program draw.

The minimum score in this draw was 469, same as the previous all-program draw. As per the tie breaking rule applied in this invitation round, all the candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 469 and above who have submitted their profile before June 04, 2020 and 22:26:05 UTC are expected to receive an ITA.

The latest Express Entry draw was the tenth all-program draw since March 18 and the 169 th overall held by IRCC. We have observed that IRCC has now been holding draws of 5,000 every two weeks.

The Comprehensive Ranking System is a score out of 1,200 used to benchmark federal economic applicants against one another. It’s a part of the Express Entry system, which was established in January 2015 to process permanent residence applications. The CRS points are calculated on for factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French.

The CRS score is used as a cut-off point in Express Entry draws. To enter the pool, candidates must be eligible under either the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, or Federal Skilled Trades Class.
