30 Apr USCIS Releases Data for H1B Season
Washington, D.C., April 30, 2024: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services released its data for the current H1B Cap Lottery (officially for Fiscal Year 2025 which starts on October 1, 2024).
The lottery was held in March of 2024. USCIS announced on April 1, 2024, that it received enough electronic registrations to reach the maximum number of 20,000 new H1B visas for the Master’s Cap and approximately 65,000 Regular Cap visas.
USCIS selected approximately 114,000 beneficiaries out of a pool of approximately 440,000 applicants for the FY 2025 H-1B Lottery Cap.
The ratio of total applicants to selected applicants for this H1B Cap Lottery was roughly 4:1 (i.e., a 25% change of success).
- The number of unique beneficiaries this year for FY 2025 (approx. 442,000) was comparable to the number last year for FY 2024 (approx. 446,000).
- The number of unique employers this year for FY 2025 (approx. 52,700) was also comparable to the number last year for FY 2024 (approx. 52,000).
- Approved H1B visas for this H1B Cap Lottery will have a start date of employment on October 1, 2024 at the earliest.
